Koala Action Pine Rivers Incorporated (KAPR) is a volunteer not for profit group made up of local residents concerned about the plight of the koala. We are committed to supporting the koala population in Pine Rivers Shire by conducting free koala education and awareness presentations in schools, for community groups and those interested in learning more about this “regionally vulnerable” species.

Our fund raising activities include collecting aluminium cans and products, which are taken to recycle stations for money, selling raffle tickets, sausage sizzles, and donations received from educational presentations and membership fees. Monies obtained from our fund raising activities go towards the rehabilitation of koala habitat and the planting of koala food trees.

We also apply for grants such as the Pine Rivers Shire Council Community Assistance Grants and Envirofund to obtain funds to conduct our rehabilitation and planting projects. Our group also supports Koala Action Pine Rivers Inc. carers of koalas by creating koala food tree plantations and assisting carers to obtain supplies and equipment required in the raising of orphans.
